Web & CD ROM Public Area

  • Easy to navigate

  • Multiple features not found on competitor sites

We made our web site and CD-ROM easy to navigate and they contain many features you won't find on our competitors sites.

The following links are the highlights of our website. The links will bring you into the actual pages in the public site but you can use the back button of your browser to return to the distributor site without having to re-enter the password.

General Product Directory

The general product directory is the 1st level of product selection. It shows a picture of each module, and ha an animation depicting the module in action. If the user still needs to know more about what a certain module is, or how it is used, help is available in the “what is it?” page link. The link beneath each picture (or clicking the image itself) allows the user to move on to the next level of product selection, the individual product directories.

Individual Product Directories (link goes to one of several)

The individual product directories provide a simplified solution to product selection. At each level in the directories, all of the possible choices are displayed allowing the user to continue on to the next level. By continuing through the directory levels, the user will be able to find all the information required, in an orderly, logical manner.

Product “Launch Pages” (link goes to one of several)
The product launch page could be considered the home page of each product. From this page, you can access all the web pages that contain all of the information about this product.
Robot Mounting Wizard

The robot mounting wizard allows the customer to determine the appropriate mounting module for his robot by knowing only the manufacturer and model number. RISTEC mounting modules mount directly to over 140 robots currently sold in the US. They also mount to many older units already installed in the field.

2D & 3D CAD File Downloads (link goes to general download area follow links to CAD files)

CAD files are available for every product we sell. They can be downloaded from the web in a compressed zip format or downloaded directly from the CD ROM in an uncompressed state. Files are in 2D or 3D file formats compatible with most popular CAD systems. Zip compression software is free on the web and we have a link to it from our download pages.

Individual Datasheet PDF Downloads (link goes to general download area follow links to pdf files)

The e-catalog section of our web/CD is located under the products section. Datasheets are viewable on screen or can be converted into higher resolution adobe acrobat .pdf files for printing. The datasheets are fully cross linked to accessories and products designed  to be used with it. Adobe Acrobat viewing software is available for free on the web and we have links to it in several locations on our site/CD.

Datasheet Usage Instructions

A link to instructions for using the interactive e-catalog is available at the top of each datasheet page. It covers usage and hot links

Catalog Section PDF Downloads (link is for downloading full tool changer catalog in high quality pdf format.  Note: This file is 7 MB and requires a high speed internet connection or patience).

Entire sections of the e-catalog can be downloaded in adobe acrobat .pdf format for high-resolution printing. These sections contain all the datasheets and product information sheets.

Applications Environments

The application environments section give you an understanding of the type of environments that our products can be used in. this section also describes the types of things we do to make them compatible with these environments.

Competitive Comparisons

This area of the web will give you a very good understanding as to where exactly RISTEC tool changers stand with respect to the competition. Charts are laid out such that “better” is to the left and “worse” is to the right. As you’ll see, RISTEC leads in most fields having very low weight, small size, high load capability, the best repeatability and the most user utilities on the market. We want to leave no doubt as to the superiority of our products. This information is available in the public section of the site. We purposely give only the model number and not the manufacturer. The  competition section of this private distributor section (which you will come across later in the tutorial) has more specific information regarding the competition including; industry gossip, web links etc. It is highly recommended that you visit all of the competitors’ sites to get a feel for their products and services (or lack thereof) that they offer their customers. As you will find, like our products our website and customer support are the best available.

Virtual Reality Product Viewer (link goes to general download area, follow links to vrml files)

This is a fun toy to play with but it is also a very useful tool. The VRML files offer a 3-dimensional tour of the each product. Most engineers love this sort of thing and it’s a great way to catch their attention. This is the next best thing to actually holding the product in your hands. The viewer is easy to operate using the “study” command. It takes a little practice but you will eventually master the skill to fly around, into and out of the products. Again, the software to view these files is free on the web.

Links to Distributors

This area will not be completed until distributors are officially brought on board. We will have links to the distributors home pages on the web. We may even offer each distributor a page or two within the site/ CD once they are brought on board. This page is linked off the sales and support pages of our site.

Product Index

Our product index is helpful for finding product information when all that you know is the part number. The item numbers are hot linked to the product information pages.

Site map

The site map gives an overview of the layout of the entire public web site. The items are hot linked to allow quick access to the information. It also allows a good visual representation of the site.

Freeware Download Links

There are a few programs that are free on the Internet that will be required to fully utilize our web site and CD ROM.  The CAD file and datasheet downloads as well as the virtual reality files require these freeware programs for downloading, decompression and viewing. These programs are vital for proper use of the web site and CD ROM so don’t delay in downloading them.

On-line Product Info Request Form

This allows customers to send application information to us electronically. We will either process this information ourselves or forward it to the distributor. Note: The forms are not active on this cd.

On-Line Comment Form

This on-line comment form is the best place to let us know about site problems or ideas & changes you’d like to see. The forms are not active on this cd.

Unit Conversion Calculator

This is a device for getting engineers who surf the site to leave their name and vital statistics. The calculator is a great tool for any engineer giving all types of unit conversions. The names that we collect will be emailed to the distributors for follow up.
