| RISTEC has introduced
a modular line of environment-specific robotic tool changers for
applications that include assembly, manufacturing, medical and
pharmaceutical, clean-room, de-ionized water and harsh or hazardous
environments. RISTEC's tool changer with internal utilities is one of the
smallest tool changers, yet the 7-ounce unit has a a payload capacity of
up to 25 pounds. The tool changer is composed of two mating halves, the
robot module and the tool module. The robot module mounts directly to any
new or existing Adept robots and easily adapts to any other small to
midsized robots on the market, as well as custom assembly machines. mating
tool modules are available in two styles. One allows continuation of user
utilities directly into an end effector while the other distributes air
and electrical lines externally via pneumatic fittings and electrical
connectors. Four independent failsafe features ensure proper coupling and
protect against involuntary tool release in the event of a failure of the
robot's control systems or loss of air pressure. RISTEC, 5519 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego, CA 92117
